Reiki
A Healing Art
- Reiki was rediscovered in Japan around the turn of the 20th
- century and was re-identified as a healing modality. It was
- introduced to the Western world around the mid 1900's and is
- becoming widely accepted as one of the healing arts - a
- technique that involves therapeutic touch. The word Reiki is
- made up of two Japanese Kanjis, Rei and Ki, which generally
- is defined as Divinely guided Life Energy. This energy exists
- within and surrounding all living things, animating and
- connecting all forms of life.
- During a Reiki Session, the Practitioner draws the Reiki Energy
- from this abundant source and directs it into your system with
- the intention to balance and increase the level of your energy
- field. This heightened energy level can better support your
- physical and emotional bodies to move towards a healthier
- state of being. Reiki induces relaxation, promotes mental
- clarity, raises vitality, speeds physical healing, comforts
- distress, increases the efficacy of medical treatments and
- reduces the need for pain medication. Reiki can also
- dynamically enhance spiritual growth and awareness.
- Reiki can be learned by anybody and is used throughout the
- world by people in a wide range of professions, as well as
- parents and significant others. People are forever discovering
- new ways to apply this Healing Art form in their lives.
- Once you have been initiated into Reiki, healing energy will
- flow through your hands for the rest of your life.
